        What you’ll do day-to-day

        You’ll employ quantitative financial methods to identify risk factors in the market and recommend trading opportunities. You’ll create mathematical models used to improve analytical tools and analyze market fundamentals and create quantitative forecasts using statistical and time-series analytical techniques. You’ll link market fundamentals to price movements and actions through the application of linear algebra and statistics to quantify market fundamental impacts. You’ll also leverage expansive datasets with data science techniques to discern trading patterns and generate novel insight into market fundamentals. You’ll organize, aggregate, and manage large datasets by designing efficient software. You’ll design and develop data visualization tools on datasets to generate insights into the market. You’ll apply mathematical techniques to assess and identify systematic mispricing in the markets and explore patterns hidden in the price data. You’ll model and analyze the complex structure of volatility in the commodity options market. You’ll integrate analysis and insight to update market views, recommend trading opportunities, identify risk factors in the market, and communicate opinions with the team.

        Who we’re looking for

        • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, physics, or a related quantitative field of study.
        • Knowledge or experience in the following must have been gained through coursework and/or academic training: mathematical modeling; computational simulation/modeling in Python, Julia, and MATLAB; machine learning techniques, including gradient descent, principal components analysis, and K-means clustering; partial differential equations; data analysis, including regression modeling and statistical data processing; Microsoft Excel for data analysis; linear algebra; and statistical methods and signal processing.
        • Candidates must pass the company’s standard pre-hire assessment, which tests general logic, analytical skills, and the ability to synthesize data necessary to perform the duties of the position. (Note: This test does not require experience with or knowledge of any specific computer programming languages, software, hardware, applications, products, platforms, tools, or technologies, or any other special skills; the knowledge and abilities needed to pass this test can be acquired solely through the education requirements.)
        • The annual base salary for this position is $200,000 - $200,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes substantial variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401 (k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
