Start-up Ventures: Technical Product Manager at Wisable

        Venture Studio – Portfolio
        New York

Wisable, a tech-enabled business brokerage that spun out from D. E. Shaw’s venture studio, seeks a Technical Product Manager to lead the development of its internal technology platform. This role will drive the development of AI-powered tools that support deal execution and related workflows, and is ideal for a highly motivated and entrepreneurial product leader eager to build scalable solutions that enhance business brokerage operations. This position is with Wisable, not the D. E. Shaw group. As a portfolio company of the D. E. Shaw group’s venture studio, DESCOvery, Wisable benefits from the firm’s industry expertise and network. Please note that Wisable will be reviewing all applications and making hiring decisions independently of the D. E. Shaw group.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

You’ll lead the end-to-end development of internal tools and AI-driven applications that enhance Wisable’s deal execution and business processes. Key responsibilities include:

        • Designing and executing AI-powered workflow products to streamline business brokerage operations.
        • Collaborating with engineering and business teams to define product specifications and drive execution.
        • Managing project timelines and ensuring smooth technical implementation (some hands-on execution may be required).
        • Integrating new technologies, particularly LLMs, to enhance workflow automation.

        Who we’re looking for

        • A bachelor’s degree or higher, an impressive record of academic and professional achievement, and three to seven years of experience are required.
        • Candidates should have at least three years of experience in developing technology products alongside development teams and at least one year of experience in building workflow products that support business activities and processes.
        • Experience in successfully taking a product from conception to completion, ideally in a startup environment, is required.
        • Experience in reading and executing code, along with the ability to understand and oversee technical aspects of product development, is essential. Direct developer experience is not required.
        • Experience with using LLMs to develop features, tools, or products is required (personal experience is acceptable; it doesn't need to be for work or academic research).
        • Candidates with strong communication skills, a collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to manage multiple projects will thrive in this role.
        • Experience or knowledge in financial transactions and markets is a plus.
        • The expected annual base salary for this position is $145,000 to $190,000.
